How it works
Sugo is a private recipe box on iPhone. Share something in — or photograph a page. It files ingredients, steps and time. No ads, no feed.
Share in
In Instagram, YouTube or Safari: Share, then the Sugo icon in the iOS share sheet. Don’t copy the link. Missing icon: swipe the row, or More / Favourites.
Camera
Photograph a cookbook page or pick from the library. Text is read on the phone (OCR). Only that text is sent for extract — same as a pasted caption. No text: try more light.
The box
Everything you save lands in a box. Search title, ingredient or tag. Several boxes: tap the name at the top. Invite with a link; the default invite is editor. Heart a recipe from its photo; find it later with the Favorites chip.
A recipe
Scale servings on the recipe. Heart = favourite. Pencil = edit. Cook mode: one step at a time, screen stays awake. Shopping: Add all.
Edit
Photo and tags first. Then title, servings, time. Ingredients and steps each have their own screen. Notes and a 1–5 rating at the bottom.
Share a recipe out
Public link (enable in Settings), text, or a card. The source stays credited. No app needed on the other end.
Bring!
From a recipe (share sheet) or the shopping list: Send to Bring!. Ingredients open in Bring!. One way — the list in Sugo stays. Bring! must be installed.
Account
Email or Sign in with Apple. 7 free extracts, then €9.90 a year via Apple. Cancel in Apple ID settings. The box stays yours. Terms, Privacy.
Questions
The Sugo icon is missing in the share sheet
Swipe the icon row, tap More, add Sugo to Favourites. Don’t copy the link — share the post or page.
A photo extract comes back empty
The phone reads printed text. More light, hold still, fill the frame with the recipe. Handwriting is unreliable.
How do I invite someone to a box?
Tap the box name, then share. Default invite is editor. Viewer can look, not edit.
Where did my favourite go?
Heart is on the recipe photo. On the box, tap Favorites — it is a filter, not a second box.
Send to Bring! does nothing
Install Bring!. The list must have unchecked items. We send ingredients once; ticking in Bring! does not tick Sugo.
How much does it cost?
Seven free extracts. Then €9.90 a year through the App Store. Cancel in Apple ID.
